Overview

The Georgia-Pacific Naheola Mill is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transportation Scheduler to join our team.

In this critical role, you’ll be responsible for coordinating the flow of rail and truck traffic in and out of the mill. As a Transportation Scheduler, you’ll help ensure the smooth and efficient movement of goods by managing shipment schedules, tracking deliveries, and maintaining clear communication with drivers, carriers, and internal teams.

This is an hourly position with a starting pay rate of $28.22 per hour. This role requires working a rotating shift schedule, alternating between day shift (6am-6pm) and night shift (6pm-6am). Our Transportation Scheduler works in a temperature-controlled, office environment.

Our Team

Our Naheola Mill, located in Pennington, Alabama, is a manufacturing site for the company’s well-known consumer products business, producing a wide range of products for the consumer business, including Angel Soft® bath tissue and Sparkle® paper towels, as well as bleached paperboard used in Dixie® paper cups and plates. The mill is the largest employer in the community and is engaged in supporting community outreach, workforce development and education.

What You Will Do

• Coordinate daily dock lineups for rail shipments and ensure boxcar orders meet operational needs
• Assign trailers to dock locations for efficient loading and unloading
• Prioritize and manage rail switching requests
• Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation
• Collaborate with internal departments to support safe and timely shipping operations
• Use SAP and E-80 systems to process orders and manage logistics
• Generate bill of ladings and track shipments using SAP and proprietary software
• Maintain and update the rail chemical car list
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• High School Diploma or GED
• Clerical and/or administrative support experience
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Excel (creating and editing spreadsheets and graphs)
• Experience communicating with all levels within an organization; verbal and written

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience in transportation scheduling or logistics
• Experience using an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, i.e.: SAP, NetSuite, etc.
• Experience using Microsoft Teams and Word
• Experience generating Bills of Lading

This role is part of the collective bargaining agreement and the starting pay for this role is set at $28.22 per hour.
