Job summary

Senior Neighbors, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Representative to support older adults by providing reliable local transport across Kent County. The role involves coordinating trips via RideLink, ensuring safety, and collaborating with the Transportation Services team to meet community needs.

The position requires a valid Chauffeur License, a high school diploma or GED, and strong interpersonal skills. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 3:30pm, with a pay range of $15.00–$17.00

Responsibilities

  • Provide transportation to nutrition sites, shopping, medical services, social services, etc. as needed and as scheduled through RideLink.
  • Maintain daily records of all program services.
  • Perform daily pre-trip inspections and follow maintenance schedule.
  • Provide ambulatory assistance and other transportation-related support.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, safety, and report issues to Transportation Manager.
  • Participate in trainings and meetings.

Location: Northern Kent County

Position Summary

Driving to improve the quality of life and access to important resources for older adults throughout our community and Kent County.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. *Other duties as assigned.
  • Provide transportation to nutrition sites, shopping, medical services, social services, etc. as needed and as scheduled through the RideLink dispatch system, and work with RideLink in cooperation with the Centers for special trips.

  • Maintain daily records of all program services as directed.

  • Perform daily pre-trip inspections, follow the established maintenance schedule.

  • Provide ambulatory assistance and provide other transportation related assistance as needed.

  • Maintain the vehicle’s general maintenance, cleanliness, and safety and immediately report any observed maintenance and/or safety deficiencies to the Transportation Manager.

  • Participate in trainings and meetings as directed.

Qualifications
Education / Experience
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

  • Chauffeur License required.

Special Licensing
  • Valid Chauffeur License.
Expected Hours of Work
  • Standardhours are M-F7:30am-3:30 pm.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle for prolonged periods of time.

  • Must be able and willing to assist persons requiring help in and out of vehicles.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record and access to private transportation that meets state insurance requirements and vehicle safety standards to use on agency business.
