Job summary

Walsh Group is seeking a Quality Manager I in Chicago, IL to oversee quality assurance and quality control efforts across transportation projects. You will manage QC consultants, coordinate inspections, and ensure plans, ITPs, and records meet contractual requirements.

The role requires 5+ years in quality management on infrastructure projects, familiarity with relevant standards, and a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in quality management on transportation, rail, transit, or infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with AREMA, IEEE, NFPA and transit agency standards.
• Experience overseeing quality activities related to communications, signaling, traction power, SCADA, facilities systems, or other complex infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Apply project rules and proactively address Health and Safety when visiting site or at the office.
• Support the implementation of Quality Assurance & Quality Control Processes on the project.
• Manage and supervise QC consultants and schedule daily activities for inspectors and testers.
• Coordinate with construction area managers and project engineers to schedule inspections for quality-related items.
• Coordinate with construction forces to resolve quality issues in the field.
• Review plans and specifications with QC consultants.
• Participate in project closeout, punch list inspections, and meetings as needed.
• Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders including Owner Representatives.
