Job summary

The Walsh Group seeks a Quality Manager I for the Transportation Group in Chicago, IL. You will oversee QA/QC activities by Systems contractors, ensuring quality records, testing documentation, and turnover packages are complete and compliant with project requirements.

Qualifications include minimum 5 years in quality management on transportation projects, familiarity with AREMA/IEEE/NFPA, and a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management preferred.

• Minimum 5 years in quality management on transportation, rail, transit, or infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with AREMA, IEEE, NFPA standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply project rules and proactively emphasize Health and Safety on site or in office.
• Support QA/QC processes implementation on the project.
• Supervise QC consultants and schedule inspections and testers as needed.
• Coordinate with managers and engineers to schedule quality inspections.
• Review plans and specifications with QC team and resolve quality issues in field.
• Participate in project closeout, punch lists, and meetings as needed.
• Develop and share Lessons Learned, Toolbox Talks, and Quality Bulletins.
