Job summary

The Maine Turnpike Authority is seeking a Transportation Project Manager to join its Engineering team in Portland, Maine. You will coordinate high-priority design and construction projects, oversee consultants and staff, and ensure on-budget, on-schedule delivery across the Turnpike system.

You will work with rights-of-way, utilities, environmental permitting, and traffic data; provide constructability reviews; and ensure design work meets MaineDOT standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• At least four years of experience as a Project Manager/Designer on transportation projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Maine.
• Valid Maine Class C driver’s license.
• Knowledge of highway, bridge, and structure design/construction.
• Familiarity with MUTCD, CADD, Bluebeam, and work zone traffic control.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and administer high-priority transportation design and construction projects.
• Oversee consultants and MTA staff in developing project plans, specs, and engineering estimates.
• Manage consultant contracts and task orders and monitor performance.
• Coordinate right-of-way, utility coordination, traffic data, and environmental permitting.
• Provide constructability reviews and engineering design work (drainage, pavement, highway design).
• Direct CADD and shop drawing submittals; collaborate with PR, ITS, Maintenance and stakeholders.
