The role focuses on managing design and engineering for civil transportation projects, with a strong emphasis on MDOT highway design experience. Key Responsibilities
Lead multidisciplinary project teams through planning, design, and construction documentation phases
Manage projects with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction
Maintain and expand relationships with public agency clients
Lead engineering design for roadway and transportation projects, including MDOT projects
Coordinate internal resources and provide mentorship to junior engineers and technicians
Support business development activities and identify new project opportunities
Attend client meetings, site visits, and industry events as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum 8 years of transportation/highway engineering experience, including MDOT project work
At least 5 years of project management experience
Professional Engineer (PE) license required (strongly preferred; candidates without PE may be considered)
Proficient in managing multidisciplinary engineering teams
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
Willingness to attend meetings, perform site visits, and travel as needed
Office-based work with occasional site visits and travel by car or plane
Participation in industry events and conferences encouraged
