DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker is currently looking to add a Transportation Project Manager to be a part of our Minneapolis, MN Team. The ideal candidate will work remotely, based in our Minneapolis office, and focus on delivering transportation projects for a wide variety of clients. Ideal candidates will demonstrate expertise with project delivery for these clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Supervises the preparation of plans for road and highway design.
  2. Coordinates tasks and project schedules and budgets.
  3. Performs QA/QC reviews of drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  4. Communicates with clients regarding project issues, leads meetings as necessary.
  5. Coordinates with engineers and technicians to ensure accurate deliverables meeting client expectations.
  6. Supervises the preparation of studies, construction documents, calculations, maps, reports, and other supporting documentation to support road and highway design.
  7. Reviews quantities and construction cost estimates prepared by others.
  8. Prepares or reviews project technical specifications.
  9. Performs detailed technical and peer reviews.
  10. Serves as the project 'task manager;' responsible for all facets of the task or discipline of the project.
  11. Responsible for document preparation for regulatory agencies to obtain required permits.
  12. Responsible for maintaining technical knowledge through completion of various training initiatives: attending seminars, reviewing professional publications, attending in-house systems/management training.
  13. Responsible for maintaining professional licensure.
  14. Occasionally visits project sites, monitoring project progress.
  15. Participates in professional organizations and events.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s Degree is a plus.
  2. At least 10 years of related experience.
  3. Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  4. High level of proficiency with various CAD and Microsoft Office programs with the ability to produce high quality design documents, exhibits, computations, and reports.
  5. Possess excellent client facing skills and ability to enhance and develop client relationships.
  6. Proven experience in working on multiple projects concurrently.
  7. Ability to work independently and within a team setting to support related projects and assignments.
  8. Ability to assist in developing strategic approaches and concepts.
  9. Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $110,229 to $190,958. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
