Chicago, IL Direct Placement On-Site Flexibility/Remote: 50%

PlantIT Group is hiring! This is a direct hire/FTE for a Transportation/Project Engineer P4 in Chicago for a prominent engineering firm. This position offers the opportunity to work on exciting, high-profile projects. About the Role

This position offers the opportunity to work on the design of a variety of transportation and site engineering projects. Enjoy rewarding project challenges and an opportunity to become an important part of a well-established technical group.

Transportation/Project Engineer Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of practical design experience in transportation engineering, highway design, and local street design.
  3. Proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads required. Modeling with OpenRoads is desired. Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D software is a plus.
  4. Knowledge of IDOT, CDOT, municipal and IL Tollway design and standards.
  5. Good communication skills and interaction with clients and internal team members is necessary.
  6. PE license in IL.

Transportation Engineer Responsibilities Include:
  1. Hands-on involvement in the design process and project advancement including setting priorities and developing objectives.
  2. Design opportunities will generally include:
    1. Highway and Roadway Plans, Specifications and Estimates
    2. Sewer Plans, Specifications and Estimates
    3. Project Permitting
    4. Project Reports
    5. Mentor Junior Engineers
    6. Professional society involvement.
    7. The ability to serve as a technical resource for a multi-disciplined team.
