Job summary

NV5 is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer for our Alpharetta, GA office. The role will provide engineering design, calculations, CAD support, and project assistance for the Transportation Design group, focusing on roadway projects.

You will work with MicroStation and InRoads/OpenRoads, collaborating with engineers and designers, and communicating effectively using Microsoft Office. A BS in Civil Engineering and relevant experience are required, with GA PE licensure preferred within 6

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• 5+ years of roadway design or other transportation engineering experience.
• GA PE license required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Knowledge of MicroStation and InRoads/OpenRoads a plus.
• GDOT and/or Municipal experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment is preferred.

• Assist engineers and designers in developing and producing plans and specifications for transportation projects.

Position Summary

NV5 is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer for our Alpharetta, GA office. The position will provide engineering design, calculations, CAD support, and project assistance for the Transportation Design group..

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will provide design support and be able to complete assigned projects on time and within budget. The most frequent and essential work activities include:

• Complete roadway design plans with limited supervision.
• Work alone and in small groups.
• Use MicroStation and Inroads/OpenRoads software.
• Assist engineers and designers in the development and production of engineering plans and specifications on a variety of transportation projects.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills along with familiarity with Microsoft Products such as Excel and Outlook.

Requirements

• BS in Civil Engineering
• 5+ years of previous roadway design or other transportation engineering experience
• GA PE license required (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
• Knowledge of Microstation and Inroads/Openroads software a plus
• GDOT and/or Municipal experience preferred
• Must be willing to travel on occasion
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment is preferred
