Job summary

The Greater Nashville Regional Council (GNRC) is seeking an experienced transportation professional to support the implementation of TIP, RTP, and funded transportation projects in the GNRC region. This role is within the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, serving as staff to MPO activities and coordinating with state and local partners.

Ideal candidates will have a master’s degree in a related field and at least two years of experience in transportation planning or project

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation planning, project development, or project implementation within a state DOT, regional planning organization, transit agency, or local government setting.
• Master's degree in public policy, engineering, community and regional planning, or a related field with at least two years of professional experience.
• A bachelor’s degree with four years of relevant experience may substitute for the master’s degree; foreign degrees considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development of federally-required documents including TIP and RTP.
• Monitor and track TIP/RTP projects and troubleshoot delays; recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with planning and engineering firms and implementing agencies on studies and analyses.
• Maintain TIP database for accuracy and compliance with federal requirements.
• Build partnerships with planning partners, agencies, and regulatory bodies.
• Provide information and resources with high level of customer service to diverse stakeholders.
• Monitor changes in state and federal laws affecting project delivery.
• Lead special projects as assigned by the Director of Transportation and Infrastructure.
