Job summary

Stantec is seeking one or more creative and motivated interns to support our Urban Mobility Planning Group in Minneapolis, Minnesota or Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Preferred candidates will have a passion for transportation planning with a background in planning, engineering, landscape architecture, or urban design.

Candidates must be willing to travel and will ideally have a valid driver’s license. The ideal candidate will be experienced or interested in the development of client-facing materials,

Qualifications

• Background in planning, engineering, landscape architecture, or urban design.
• Willingness to travel and a valid driver’s license preferred.
• Interest in developing client-facing materials and facilitating meetings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of system-level transportation plans or corridor studies.
• Assist with facilitation of public outreach events.
• Assist with entry level planning &/or design duties, as needed.
• Report editing in Word or Adobe InDesign.
• Conceptual site design and graphics development with Adobe Illustrator.
• Technical writing, and summary of project-record notes/files.
• Tabular data analysis and summary reporting.
• Map creation or data analysis with ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Online.

Technical experience with at least one of these key software programs is also a requirement: ArcGIS,Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or SketchUp.Above all, thesuccessful candidate will be organized, self-motivated and curious, have a friendly, professional demeanor, and be able to multitask, ask questions, and learn from feedback. Position(s) will be full-time during the summer months, and flexible for part-time work during school semester(s).
