Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Planning Intern or Co-Op to join our team. You will work with a dynamic group of engineers on a diverse portfolio of public, federal, and industrial projects, supporting data analysis and potential coding for travel demand modeling.

You will collaborate with transportation staff and modelers to check model outputs, validate against traffic counts, and prepare data for input into travel demand models, with opportunities to gain experience in GIS and reporting.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and taking courses toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data analysis and potential coding for travel demand modeling projects.
• Check travel demand model output with mid-level and senior modelers; conduct comparison/validation analyses with existing traffic counts.
• Develop data to input into travel demand models.
• Assist with basic traffic data collection and reporting; use GIS systems; conduct research and ad-hoc assignments as needed.
