Transportation Planner II – Automated Transportation Systems Planning

Overview

The Transportation Department of the North Central Texas Council (NCTCOG) is seeking a Transportation Planner to support the development and implementation of strategies for innovative transportation solutions related to transit and automated transportation systems, including economic development, sustainable development, transportation safety, rail, and air quality initiatives. Responsibilities
  • Collect, compile, and analyze data related to advanced transit modes, micro transit, and transportation system planning studies to support next-generation automated people mover and goods movement systems.
  • Assist in identifying efficient automated transportation planning solutions for the North Central Texas region.
  • Analyze data for emerging transportation technologies.
  • Conduct technical safety, operations, and traffic analyses and present findings.
  • Maintain data for transportation planning activities, including mapping and analysis.
  • Prepare and deliver oral presentations.
  • Draft technical reports, correspondence, and other documents.
  • Update content for automated transportation systems webpages.
  • Attend meetings, events, and workshops.
Required Skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Functional knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with map creation skills.
  • Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, capable of managing multiple tasks under deadlines.

Additional Information

FLSA: Exempt.

Starting salary range: $54,009 - $64,810.80 annually.
