Job summary

Vermont Agency of Transportation is seeking an entry-level Transportation Operations Technician I to perform highway maintenance tasks including repair work, litter pick-up, and seasonal plowing. A CDL training path is offered as part of the role, with eligibility for a sign-on/retention bonus up to $2000.

Qualifications

• No education or experience required.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• CDL may be required for original probation.

Responsibilities

• Repair guardrails, cut trees/brush, patch roads and pick litter.
• Ditch and maintain roadways, and assist with winter plowing/salting when needed.
• Work outdoors in extreme weather and operate maintenance equipment.
