State of Vermont is seeking a Transportation Operations Technician II in Windsor, VT. The role involves highway maintenance such as repairing guardrails, cutting trees, patching roads, litter pickup, ditching, and winter plowing and salting; overtime may be required.

CDL is required with tanker endorsement within six months of hire. This permanent, full-time position offers excellent benefits, CDL renewal reimbursement, and a sign-on/retention bonus up to $2000 for eligible hires.

Qualifications

• One year of work experience in construction, equipment operation, or related manual labor
• Possession of a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with tanker endorsement within six months of employment

Responsibilities

• Repair guardrails, cut trees/brush, patch roads, and pick litter
• Ditch and maintain drainage; assist with plowing and salting in winter
• May assist in vehicle and equipment maintenance; handle heavy equipment and materials safely
