Job summary

Insight Global's client is hiring a Transportation Operations Specialist to support the movement of domestic ground freight from shipment creation through final delivery and closeout. You will manage shipments within a Transportation Management System (TMS) and coordinate with carriers and warehouses to track and trace freight, maintaining accurate documentation and resolving exceptions.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in transportation, logistics, dispatch, freight, or 3PL operations.
• Hands-on experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Experience with BOLs, PODs, shipment tracking, ETAs, and transport exceptions.
• Experience with domestic ground transportation including FTL, LTL, intermodal.

Responsibilities

• Create, update, track, and maintain shipments within a TMS.
• Coordinate pickups and deliveries with carriers, drivers, warehouses, and internal teams.
• Track shipments in transit and maintain accurate ETAs and milestones.
• Generate, review, and audit Bills of Lading (BOLs) and Proofs of Delivery (PODs).
• Verify piece counts, shipment details, carrier information, and supporting documentation.
• Identify and resolve shipment, delivery, documentation, and billing discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate cost and revenue information and support shipment closeout.
• Manage multiple active shipments in a fast-paced transportation environment.

• Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and multitasking skills.

Key Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Blue Yonder/JDA TMS is highly preferred.
• Experience with e2open, Descartes Aljex, MacroPoint, Tive, Open Dock, or similar platforms.
• Freight billing, cost reconciliation, accounts payable, or accessorial charge experience.
• Experience supporting high-value or security-sensitive freight.
