Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to lead North America and Latin America last mile transport within ACL. You will own the physical supply chain for AWS hardware delivering infrastructure to data centers, working with a cross-functional team to scale operations and drive strategy.

The ideal candidate will have data-driven problem solving, strong communication, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on process

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of related industry experience.
  • 2+ years of data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in supply chain management, engineering, business management or other relevant field.
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, macros, SQL, visualization tools - Tableau, Quicksight, etc.
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments.
  • Experience in process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
  • Experience in global supply chain management, managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced consumer electronics product company.
  • Experience in program, project or product management, or leading product implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Own transportation within NALA establishing workflows, procedures, and metrics.
  • Manage a team of transportation specialists, coordinating day-to-day operations to deliver shipments efficiently, on time, and at the highest quality of service.
  • Communicate effectively with carriers (LSPs), internal customers, and cross-functional stakeholder teams across the supply chain.
  • Analyze data (Excel, SQL), publish performance metrics, and deliver business reviews to senior leadership to improve transit times and service levels.
  • Define and drive accountability for transportation KPIs, acting on trends and available data.
  • Shape last mile supply chain strategy, resolve complex escalations, and eliminate root causes of defects.
  • Create scalable mechanisms and SOPs; drive automation and process simplification with partner teams.
  • Lead projects, support senior leadership initiatives, and program-manage regional/global operational priorities.
  • Understand partner technical requirements and coordinate with internal and external teams to drive fulfillment services.
  • Write documents cross-functionally and present at senior leader document reviews.
  • Mentor and coach team members; serve as the team's escalation point.
  • Own the COE review process, engage in AWST hiring (MGHD) and org planning, and level-set expectations with business partners.

Job description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced and strategic Transportation Manager to lead North America and Latin America (NALA) last mile transportation operations within AWS Cloud Logistics (ACL). This role owns the physical supply chain for AWS hardware delivering critical infrastructure components to data centers across the continents and abroad. You'll join a fast-moving, cross-functional team at the intersection of supply chain strategy and data center infrastructure delivery, managing day-to-day transportation operations while shaping the strategy that scales them.

An ideal candidate brings a background in transportation, freight forwarding, or logistics, paired with excellent data-driven problem resolution skills. They can influence teams, pull and analyze data with ease, drive process improvements, standardize operations, and eliminate the root causes of defects within current systems. This role requires exceptional communication skills and the ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
