Job summary

Sysco (old) in Oak Creek, Wisconsin seeks a transportation supervisor to support the manager in delivering safe, on-time orders and efficient backhauls. You will train and supervise transportation associates, enforce SOPs and food safety standards, and ensure DOT/OSHA compliance.

You will schedule work, monitor labor hours and budgets, coordinate with warehouse and customer service teams, review productivity, and implement delivery changes while promoting safety and strong associate relations.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of transportation experience and/or training.
• CDL Class A preferred but not required.
• Certificate of DOT regulations training preferred.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and DOT rules; SOPs understood.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily work and safety of transportation associates; adheres to SOPs and safety standards.
• Ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulations (DOT, OSHA).
• Oversees labor hours and consumables within budget.
• Prepares work schedules including extra days and shifts.
• Assists with training of new associates; cross-training existing staff.
• Directs proper selection and utilization of company assets for delivery.
• Coordinates repairs with proper departments as needed.
• Reviews delivery functions and productivity; suggests efficiency improvements.
• Enforces company policies and procedures, including food safety standards.
• Communicates with warehouse and customer service to resolve issues.
• Visits customer locations to address issues and assess delivery difficulty.
• Maintains associate relations through regular meetings and open communication.
• Works with safety manager on training, observations and safety inspections.
• Performs staff selection, development, discipline, and performance reviews.
