Job summary

Echo Global Logistics, Inc is offering a 10-week Transportation Operations Intern program at Woodridge with a hybrid work model. You will support daily transportation operations, gain hands-on experience in inventory management, receiving/shipping, and process documentation, while learning from logistics professionals.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a degree in supply chain/logistics, demonstrate strong organization, problem-solving, and teamwork, and are open to potential full-time opportunities

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field.
• Available to start May 24, 2027 and complete the 10-week program.
• Willing to work at the Woodridge facility and travel to Echo Chicago HQ as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inventory management: track inventory, conduct stock counts, update records in WMS.
• Receiving and shipping: assist with receiving shipments, verify quantities, inspect goods.
• Assist in preparing and packing orders for shipment.
• Process design and documentation: outline and document processes and implement across operations.
• Quality control: check products for defects and ensure quality standards.
• Warehouse organization: maintain a clean, organized, safe workspace.
• Assist in optimizing storage layouts for efficiency.
• Data entry: update inventory and shipment records in the system.
• Safety compliance: follow safety regulations and procedures.

As a Transportation Operations Intern at Roadtex, you will work closely with our transportation team to assist in the daily operations of the transportation business. This internship provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in logistics, inventory management, and warehouse processes. You will contribute to process design and documentation, transportation reporting, maintaining a smooth workflow and ensuring that our products are stored and distributed efficiently.

Responsibilities & Job Duties

• Inventory Management: Assist in tracking inventory levels, conducting stock counts, and updating records in the warehouse management system.
• Receiving and Shipping: Help with receiving incoming shipments, verifying quantities, and inspecting the quality of goods.
• Assist in preparing and packing orders for shipment.
• Process Design and Documentation: Work with transportation leadership to outline and design a process. Then document in a Standard Operating Procedure and implement with through various level of the operation.
• Quality Control: Assist in checking products for defects or discrepancies and ensuring that all products meet quality standards.
• Warehouse Organization: Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
• Assist in optimizing storage layouts for efficient operations.
• Data Entry: Update inventory records, order details, and shipment information in the system.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures within the warehouse.

Requirements

• Must be able to start May 24th, 2027 and complete the entire 10 week program
• Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field
• Able to work in our Woodridge facility 5 days a week and travel to the Echo Chicago headquarters as needed
