- 5 years responsible experience in automotive or diesel engine mechanics
- Must be 21 years of age and meet related criteria as described under "Standards for Utah School Buses and Operations"
- Certified to perform state safety inspections
- CDL License
- Electronic Diagnostic experience preferred
- Assures adequate maintenance and repair records are maintained for District vehicles and equipment.
- Utilizes the Automated Fleet Management System.
- Performs as certified safety inspector for District vehicles and school buses. Annual State Police Bus inspection.
- Recommends major equipment and vehicle replacements.
- Maintains the ability to diagnose, repair, rebuild and make necessary adjustments on all vehicles systems.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge and ability to repair components on all systems, including the ability to operate shop equipment.
- Performs trouble shooting and related repairs on District vehicles.
- Performs general body work and vehicle interiors
- Performs welding as needed to fabricate parts and repair equipment.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Pre-employment drug screen and random testing
