Job description

Overview

At Jacobs, we’re challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world’s most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission‑critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting‑edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your Impact

As a key member of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on challenging projects as the Transportation Market Leader for highway and roadway projects – planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of projects with high degrees of technical complexity from the concept stage through detailed design. You will be leading a multi‑discipline design team to complete tasks within established schedules and budgets and help advance our business development strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Help guide client strategies and keep track of key happenings and new developments.
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and advancement of the client relationships with CTDOT and other stakeholders, supporting sales leads in account strategy, pipeline decisions, go/no‑go processes, and win strategies.
  • Build and grow relationships with CTDOT’s key staff through face‑to‑face meetings, participate in debriefs, client satisfaction surveys, and industry organizations. Remain apprised of client‑related meetings to influence and guide conversations at the direction of the sales lead.
  • Determine teaming partners to add to teams and obtain teaming arrangements accordingly.
  • Lead key pursuit activities during opening, middle and end game, working closely with sales.
  • Track and share client relationship and project delivery status with relevant internal stakeholders through call plans, call reports, client account planning, and CSP. Distill feedback and other indicators that may influence middle‑game actions.
  • Advocate in the client’s interest, maintaining and enforcing client confidentiality (if applicable), procurement integrity, etc.
  • Work directly with the CTDOT CAM and CAP on overall client strategy, with operations for project delivery, and coordinate pursuits with sales operations.
  • Identify and maintain the pipeline with accurate information.
  • Partner with CAM and CAP to ensure we give the clients the attention they deserve and ultimately grow our business.
  • Work with the sales team to ensure we are in front of clients on important issues or topics they have noticed coming up by connecting the right folks to follow those topics – whether that is our local transportation team, our S&T folks, or cross‑business staff.
  • Drive growth with CTDOT by prioritizing overall client satisfaction from relationship through final project delivery.
Relationship‑Based Sales Training

Complete relationship‑based sales training, maintain a general understanding of services offered by Jacobs, keep up to date with company news, developments, acquisitions/mergers, and remain aligned with overall corporate strategy.
