Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Senior Transportation Analytics Lead to guide a team of transportation network design specialists and deliver data‑driven insights that optimize routing, cost‑to‑serve, and service levels across the network.

The role requires strong analytical skills and experience with network optimization tools (Descartes WinRoute, Alteryx) and visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau). Travel about 10% is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, industrial engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in transportation analytics, network design, or data modeling.
  • Experience with network optimization and analytics tools (Descartes WinRoute & Alteryx).
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of transportation network design specialists.
  • Identify opportunities to improve logistics capabilities and service optimization.
  • Optimize routing and location strategies using advanced modeling software.
  • Design, implement, and maintain routing solutions to drive cost savings.
  • Conduct cost-to-serve and fleet equipment analysis for strategic decisions.
  • Apply statistics, regression modeling, and optimization to improve processes.
  • Lead transportation cost modeling and support customer negotiations.
  • Develop and operationalize new logistics capabilities with standardized processes.
  • Build relationships across the enterprise for informed decisions.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Supply Chain Planning, Sales, and 3PL carriers.
  • Translate complex analytics into clear insights for stakeholders.

Job Summary

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of transportation network design specialists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and analytical excellence.
  • Identify and assess opportunities to improve logistics capabilities and service optimization across the Cardinal Health network.
  • Optimize routing and location strategies using advanced modeling software.
  • Design, implement, and maintain routing solutions that drive measurable cost savings.
  • Conduct cost-to-serve and fleet equipment analysis to support strategic decisions.
  • Apply statistical analysis, regression modeling, and optimization techniques to enhance supply chain processes.
  • Lead transportation cost modeling and support customer contract negotiations.
  • Develop and operationalize new logistics capabilities through standardized processes and procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the enterprise to inform decisions and gather feedback.
  • Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams including Legal, Finance, Supply Chain Planning, Sales, and 3PL carriers to ensure alignment and successful execution of transportation initiatives.
  • Translate complex transportation analytics and network modeling outputs into clear, concise, and actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences, influencing key stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Ensure that proposed network designs and optimization strategies are operationally feasible and align with real-world transportation and warehousing capabilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in transportation analytics, network design, or data modeling preferred
  • Strong foundational knowledge of domestic transportation modes, regulations, and warehousing operations.
  • Experience with Network Optimization and Analytics tools (Descartes WinRoute & Alteryx preferred)
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
  • Advanced quantitative and analytical skills, including proficiency in statistical analysis, regression modeling, and optimization techniques.
  • Excellent business writing and communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Travel Expectations: 10%

$89,000 – $139,920
