Key Responsibilities:
  • Regional P&L Ownership: Oversee transportation budget and costs for a large region, ensuring financial goals are met.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure reliable, on-time deliveries while optimizing costs; lead initiatives to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop transportation teams, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Collaborate with leadership on transportation strategies; monitor trends and provide insights.
  • Carrier Management: Manage relationships with third-party carriers, negotiate contracts, and ensure reliability and compliance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with logistics, supply chain, sales, and operations to align transportation activities.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to transportation laws and promote safety culture.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Use data to identify efficiencies and report on performance metrics.
  • Process Improvement & Innovation: Lead initiatives for technological and process advancements in transportation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or 10 years relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years managing large-scale transportation operations and P&L.
  • Proven leadership in managing transportation networks and teams.
  • Skills in leadership, analysis, communication, problem-solving, and regulatory knowledge.
  • Ability to travel regionally and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:
  • Managing transportation across multiple states or regions.
  • Implementing transportation technology solutions.
  • Managing in-house and third-party transportation resources.
