Job Description:

Pitney Bowes is hiring a Transportation Manager at our Aurora, IL presort facility.

Salary and Schedule: The base salary range is $80,000 - $88,000 annually plus a 6% field bonus. This role offers a flexible work schedule with no fixed vacation policy.

Shift: 1st shift

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise transportation personnel and route delivery operations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery/pick-up of customer service requests.
  • Manage site transportation vendors and sourcing contacts.
  • Ensure driver compliance with DOT regulations and maintain DOT files.
  • Provide excellent customer service internally and externally while achieving labor goals.
  • Handle HR responsibilities including performance reviews, counseling, hiring, and termination.
  • Manage service provider performance and contractual compliance.
  • Promote safety and security policies.
  • Communicate with regional and operational teams regarding pickups and logistics issues.
  • Coordinate with production to ensure timely dispatch of mail.
  • Review and verify pick-up slips and USPS supplies.
  • Recommend performance improvements for the transportation department.
  • Ensure proper handling and documentation of mail and equipment.
  • Oversee fleet maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Support other departments to meet operational goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in operations/transportation management.
  • Strong project management and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Knowledge of DOT compliance and supervisory training.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; preferred in Business, Transportation, or Logistics.
  • Experience with transportation/fleet services, route delivery, and operational procedures.
  • Fluent in English, with good reading, speaking, and comprehension skills.
