Position Overview

Bundy Baking Solutions is seeking a Transportation Manager to oversee the operation of our heavy fleet of vehicles at our Urbana, Ohio facility. The role involves managing vehicle procurement, disposal, inventory control, and leading the maintenance and repair team to ensure efficient fleet operation.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain performance standards, procedures, and policies for the shop.
2. Supervise repair, service, and maintenance of company vehicles.
3. Ensure accuracy in parts inventories.
4. Manage the division budget.
5. Oversee vehicle preventive maintenance programs.
6. Organize truck loads and routing schedules for on-time delivery.
7. Review repair procedures for completeness and efficiency.
8. Recommend vehicle replacements and handle disposal or auction processes.
9. Coordinate delivery logistics with customers and sales teams.
10. Prepare delivery documentation for truckers.
11. Interview, train, and discipline staff members.
12. Assess training needs and implement development programs.
13. Plan automotive repair and maintenance activities with supervisory staff.
14. Investigate vehicle accidents, negotiate settlements, and authorize repairs.
15. Evaluate the need for additional vehicles.
16. Communicate sector updates and improvements to staff.
