As the company behind Kona Cotton—one of the most recognized cotton solids in the world—we’re committed to delivering high-quality fabrics that inspire makers, quilters, and crafters everywhere. We exist to supply creatives with the fabric their heart desires, and we’re looking for like-minded sales professionals who share that passion.

About the Role
We’re hiring a full-time Transportation Manager to oversee and optimize our global and domestic transportation operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a logistics professional with strong freight forwarding experience, carrier negotiation skills, and a passion for operational efficiency in a creative, product-driven industry. You’ll work closely with internal teams and partners to leverage precision, efficiency, and strategy. This is a remote position with minimal domestic travel (15%).

Key Responsibilities

  • Inbound Logistics
    • Oversee global inbound shipments, including ocean, air, and intermodal freight.
    • Coordinate with freight forwarders and vendors to manage LCL and FCL shipments.
    • Negotiate Incoterms (FBO, CIF, LDP, etc.) and ensure timely, cost-effective freight solutions.
    • Monitor customs compliance, documentation, and end-to-end shipment visibility.
  • Outbound & Domestic Freight
    • Manage parcel, LTL, FTL, and over-the-road (OTR) transportation across the U.S. and other countries.
    • Collaborate with 3PLs and carriers to meet delivery targets and control costs.
    • Optimize routes, service levels, and carrier consolidation through data analysis.
    • Advise leadership on transportation best practices and systemic needs.
  • Cross-Functional Support
    • Serve as a key liaison between logistics, planning, samples, procurement, and sales teams.
    • Develop and track performance KPIs (on-time delivery, cost per unit, damage rates).
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the transportation network.

What you Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in transportation, freight, or logistics management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field (Master’s Degree is a bonus).
  • Strong background in inbound freight forwarding and global/domestic supply chain operations.
  • Skilled in rate negotiation, customs regulations, and transportation cost optimization.
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and logistics analytics.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborative team player.
  • Strategic and tactical thinker with a high level of ownership and accountability
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 15%, mostly domestic).

What We Offer:

  • Competitive compensation based on experience and location
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Flexible remote work environment
  • Professional development opportunities
  • The chance to make a meaningful impact in a values-driven company

Robert Kaufman Co. is unable to sponsor visas for any candidate who is not eligible to work in the United States. Additionally, we cannot assist with the transfer of an employment visa from another company.
