Job summary

Ferraro Foods is seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to lead daily transportation operations, develop a high-performing team of drivers, and drive efficiency across routing, dispatching, and delivery operations.

You will oversee dispatching, routing, and delivery coordination for Class A and B drivers, monitor schedules, and ensure timely communication with drivers and customers while maintaining safety, compliance, and service standards.

Qualifications

• Active Class A or Class B CDL required.
• 5+ years of experience in foodservice delivery or transportation operations.
• Previous transportation supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of dispatching, routing, and delivery operations.
• Understanding of DOT regulations and transportation safety requirements.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of RoadNet or similar routing software preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent work-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily transportation operations, including dispatching, routing, and delivery coordination for Class A and Class B drivers.
• Monitor delivery schedules, troubleshoot service issues, and ensure timely communication with drivers and customers.
• Manage driver callouts, scheduling changes, and delivery coverage to minimize operational disruptions.
• Review and optimize delivery routes to improve efficiency, productivity, and truck utilization.
• Oversee routing activities and ensure accurate route information and truck maximization within RoadNet.
• Lead, coach, train, and develop drivers and helpers to improve performance, safety, and accountability.
• Address attendance, performance, and policy concerns, including corrective action when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, federal and state transportation laws, OSHA requirements, and company safety policies.
• Report driver accidents, incidents, and workplace injuries to Safety and Human Resources.
• Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Safety, and Operations to resolve delivery challenges and maintain service standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve transportation processes, operational efficiency, and overall department performance.

The Ingredients for Success

• Active Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required


• 5+ years of experience in foodservice delivery or transportation operations

The Details

• Employment Type: Full-Time | Exempt


• Compensation: $95,000 – $110,000 annually
