SUMMARY

The Transportation Manager oversees all valet and fleet operations, ensuring guests receive efficient, safe, and professional parking and transportation services. This role is responsible for supervising valet staff, managing daily schedules, maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and upholding exceptional service standards. The Transportation Manager ensures vehicle operations and guest transportation are conducted smoothly and efficiently, while also managing fleet logistics to meet company standards for timeliness, service, and regulatory compliance.

  • Responsible for supervising and managing staff in the Valet and Transportation departments. Develops, implements and manages operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives.
  • Manages Valet operations to ensure that safe, smooth flow of traffic to and from the Valet parking area and ensures accurate count of vehicles moved.
  • Investigates Valet accidents, along with customer complaints and comments; follows up with involved team members to resolve the matter to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Create effective and efficient schedules, while maintaining labor costs, meeting staffing objectives and achieving guest satisfaction.
  • Supervises and executes policies and procedures to assure efficient and effective Valet and Transportation Operations positively impact guest services.
  • Responsible for assisting in the budget process for the department and provide recommendations; ensuring compliance to departmental budget initiatives; reporting budget concerns to manager.
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise. Responsible for the overall achievement of department customer service goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring department has all necessary tools to complete tasks and that all equipment is in working order.
  • Ensures guest parking areas are in accordance with established standards. Coordinates snow removal from parking areas, if applicable.
  • Responsible for coordinating regular maintenance of shuttle busses and ensures busses are in safe, working condition, if applicable.
  • Responsible for executing transportation arrangements for guests and/or team members that use company vehicles.
  • Responsible for monitoring service and mileage logs for all company vehicles.
  • Responsible for ensuring OSHA standards are followed.
  • Understands and adheres to all bargaining unit agreements (where applicable).
  • Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to Executive Management / GM.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; or minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have the ability to operate a manual and automatic transmission automobile.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Must be able to physically perform job duties of all Valet/Transportation team members, when emergencies arise.
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has supervisory responsibilities.

  • Responsible for staff development and training programs.
  • Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement.
  • Evaluates team members within department and delivers constructive feedback to employees in regards to performance.
  • Determines recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning and directing work) to meet business needs.
  • Determines work procedures and expedites workflow.
  • Responsible for employee performance (disciplining, coaching, counseling).
