Texas Department of Transportation is seeking Transportation Maintenance Tech I/II/III to support roadway maintenance and equipment operation in Texas. Roles include traffic control, routine maintenance, and public assistance during emergencies.
Positions require operation of light and heavy equipment and adherence to maintenance schedules. Minimum qualifications include related experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to perform PMI inspections.
Transportation Mntnce Spec I/II/III
Performs routine transportation operations or maintenance support work such as: roadway maintenance and repair; light and heavy equipment operation; preventive and minor maintenance on equipment; traffic control; and helping the public during emergency situations. Work requires contact with private entities. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details.
Performs moderately complex transportation operations or maintenance support work such as: maintenance contract and/or material and process inspections; roadway maintenance and repair; light and heavy equipment operation; preventive and minor maintenance on equipment, traffic control; and helping the public during emergency situations. Work requires contact with private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.
Performs highly complex transportation operations or maintenance support work such as: contract maintenance and/or material and process inspections; roadway maintenance and repair; operates light and heavy equipment; preventative and minor maintenance on equipment, traffic control; and helping the public during emergency situations; and training other employees. Work requires contact with private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.
