Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks a Supervisor of Transportation Maintenance Services to manage the vehicular maintenance program at an assigned transportation site. You will oversee servicing, preventive maintenance, fueling, inspections, and minor repairs, under limited supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least five years in vehicle maintenance, and credentials such as a NC CDL with S endorsement and a NC DPI Certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of vehicle maintenance/repair experience.
• Experience maintaining and repairing school buses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Lead, manage, supervise, and evaluate assigned staff/programs.
• Monitor and inspect work to ensure timely and correct completion.
• Schedule the preventative maintenance program for all assigned vehicles.
• Coordinate and schedule major repairs with appropriate personnel.
• Maintain documentation of inspections, repairs and parts used.
• Coordinate to maintain stocked inventory and request orders for parts.
• Prepare reports for NC DPI and ensure vehicle compliance.
• Create an inclusive environment with positive communication/public relations.
