LOGISTICS MANAGER CHICAGO, IL

Strategy:

  1. Oversee the entire direct-to-consumer logistics supply chain, including setting a clear vision aligned with company goals, building a strong team, and managing major functions within your scope.
  2. Forge strong partnerships across the organization and with external stakeholders to drive industry-leading transformations that boost conversion, customer satisfaction, and loyalty.
  3. Lead continuous improvements in the supply chain to enhance our competitive advantage.
  4. Plan and execute expansion efforts in inventory management, distribution centers, and order fulfillment.
  5. Develop and implement strategic growth initiatives and optimize supply chain processes, including logistics, warehouse operations, and retail operations.
  6. Regularly review operations to find opportunities for cost savings and improve the supply chain’s financial performance.

Operations:

  1. Manage both company-operated and third-party transportation, focusing on compliance, performance, carrier management, and optimizing fleet effectiveness.
  2. Develop strategies to reduce shipping costs and enhance service levels. Oversee relationships with third-party vendors to ensure seamless partnerships.
  3. Ensure effective metrics are in place to measure supply chain performance, including supplier performance, inventory, delivery, and procurement metrics.
  4. Utilize tools to monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for continuous improvement.
  5. Establish vendor performance metrics and conduct quarterly reviews to manage partnerships effectively.
  6. Identify opportunities to enhance the company's competitive position through technology, flexibility, and negotiated agreements.
  7. Adjust short- and long-term plans to support company growth, including process improvements, capital investments, and technology projects.
  8. Manage the annual budget, operating plan, and capital investment plans.
  9. Maintain relationships with logistics service providers, ensuring performance accountability and negotiating rates.
  10. Oversee logistics budget and freight rate KPIs, focusing on cost-efficiency (e.g., cost per container, cost per carton).
  11. Handle invoice management, including submission, validation, and dispute resolution, in collaboration with third-party payment services.

Management:

  1. Balance innovation with practical execution, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to develop and implement both short-term and long-term strategies.
  2. Align strategies and goals with Finance, IT, and Planning & Allocation departments.
  3. Manage multiple teams, including warehousing, distribution, logistics, and third-party providers.
  4. Attract, develop, and lead top talent to drive the supply chain agenda forward.
  5. Provide clear leadership and direction, ensuring organizational accountability and cohesion.
  6. Exhibit strong attention to detail, ensuring systems and reporting are complete and accurate.
