Job summary

BioGro, Inc. is seeking a Transportation and Logistics Specialist to oversee transportation, rail operations, fleet management, and logistics across multiple facilities.

This role ensures efficient product movement, regulatory compliance, cost control, and reliable service to support operations and customer needs. You will manage inbound/outbound freight, coordinate railcar scheduling, oversee fleet maintenance, maintain records, and collaborate with production, warehousing, sales, and customer

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in transportation, logistics, or fleet management.
• Experience with regulatory and DOT/FMCSA requirements.
• Rail logistics and fleet operations knowledge required.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and TMS.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage inbound and outbound freight utilizing truckload, LTL, rail, and intermodal transportation.
• Coordinate railcar scheduling, tracking, unloading, and carrier communications.
• Oversee company fleet operations, maintenance programs, registrations, and inspections.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, PHMSA, and other transportation regulations.
• Maintain transportation and compliance records and support audits and inspections.
• Negotiate carrier rates and manage transportation providers.
• Monitor transportation costs, service levels, and key performance metrics.
• Collaborate with production, warehouse, sales, and customer service teams to ensure timely deliveries.
• Investigate transportation issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain transportation policies, procedures, and safety standards.
