Job summary

HDR is seeking motivated Transportation Interns to join us in 2027. This internship provides hands-on experience across highway design, planning, structural engineering, rail, construction, and aviation.

You will work with engineers and project managers on impactful projects shaping communities across Kentucky. Preferred qualifications include current Civil Engineering student status, internship experience in engineering/project development, and local candidate preference.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate Engineering degree.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with transportation design across multiple disciplines (highway, rail, aviation).
• Support field observations, documentation, and reports.
• Contribute to project meetings, cost estimates, and data analysis.
