Garver is seeking a motivated environmental sciences student to join our Transportation Team in Tulsa, OK. This internship offers hands-on experience in documenting environmental resources, training by staff and project managers, and applying academic learning to the consulting industry.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in environmental compliance and planning projects by working with the team in the field and office.
  • Become familiar with local, state, and federal NEPA regulations.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports and regulatory documentation, including Section 404 permits.
  • Explore interdisciplinary interests across ecology, hydrology, cultural resources, and environmental justice while supporting infrastructure projects.
  • Learn and utilize ESRI ArcGIS products for project work.
  • The successful candidate will be motivated to learn and engage with a variety of environmental projects.

Job description

Garver is seeking a motivated environmental sciences student to join our Transportation Team in Tulsa, OK. This intern will gain real-world experience in the documentation of environmental resources, training by our experienced environmental staff and project managers, and an understanding of how to apply their academic training in the consulting industry.
Internship Description:
  • Actively participate in environmental compliance and planning projects by working alongside our dynamic consulting team both in the field and at the office.
  • Become familiar with local, state, and federal regulations relevant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
  • Assist in preparing technical reports and regulatory documentation, including Section 404 permit applications and supporting materials.
  • Explore your interdisciplinary interests of ecology, hydrology, cultural resources, hazardous materials, and environmental justice while you gain exposure to many types of infrastructure projects across transportation, aviation, and water business lines.
  • Learn and utilize industry-related software such as ESRI ArcGIS products.
  • The successful candidate will be a motivated critical thinker with the adaptability to learn and engage with a variety of environmental projects.

Requirements:
  • Candidates must be pursuing an environmental science, ecology, biology, or related degree

  • A strong desire to assist with a wide array of infrastructure improvement projects.
Preferred skills:
  • Previous internship or co-op experiencein the environmental field.
  • Previous experience using GPS and/or GIS software.
  • Previous experience in environmental fieldwork.
Work Environment
This is an in-office position; duties and responsibilities are generally performed in an office setting.
