Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky, Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways in Frankfort, KY, is seeking a Transportation Engineering Technologist II to join a field crew. The role involves geotechnical subsurface investigations, sampling, and operation of heavy equipment across statewide projects.

Candidates should have required education and two years of engineering-related experience, and hold a valid driver's license. Travel is statewide five days a week with field and office work.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or associate degree as specified.
Two years of engineering-related experience.
Must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Obtain rock and soil samples for geotechnical analyses.
Operate rotary drill rigs, dozers, large trucks, etc.
Log and record field data and perform database entry.
Travel statewide five days a week.

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering technology, construction management, engineering science, engineering mechanics, computer science, data science, geology, earth science, industrial technology, industrial drafting, design technology or construction technology

Associate's degree in Engineering Technology with completion of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Civil Engineering Technology Scholarship Program
