Job summary

Waters of Chesterfield is seeking a part-time Transportation/Facility Bus Driver to ensure safe transport of residents under supervision. The role requires maintaining logs, attending training, and upholding professional standards and punctuality.

You will coordinate with the transportation team to schedule trips, monitor van availability, and ensure passengers are safely seated while adhering to all policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record (No DUI convictions in the past 10 years).
• High school diploma or GED and CPR certification required; CNA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure transit and safety of residents; operate under Transportation Director supervision.
• Attend required trainings and maintain professional appearance and punctuality.
• Report to work as scheduled and attend mandatory meetings.
• Transport residents/staff to designated areas and manage appointment scheduling within shift.
• Coordinate with transportation coordinator for outside appointments.
• Arrange van availability and supervise residents when family cannot attend.
• Maintain a mileage log/trip sheet and file monthly trip documentation.
• Keep van clean; complete daily checklists and ensure passengers are safely seated.
• Observe traffic laws, speed limits, and road signs; report safety violations.
• Complete bus/van logs daily and submit at month end.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Director or Administrator.

NOW HIRING - TRANSPORTATION/Facility Bus Driver Part-Time

POSITION SUMMARY - TRANSPORTATION/FACILITY BUS DRIVER:

Transportation/Facility Bus Driver will work under the supervision of the Transportation Director and will be responsible for the transit and safety of the residents. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.

JOB DUTIES - Transportation/Bus Driver:

1. 1. Prior to driving the bus/van, proper instruction and/or training will be provided by the facility Administrator or designee to the facility bus/van driver on its proper operation
2. 2. Portrays a pleasant, always accommodating attitude and a professional appearance.
3. 3. Reports to work as scheduled
4. 4. Attends all mandatory meetings
5. 5. Per the procedure below, the facility bus/van driver will transport residents/staff to a designated area as required and appointments will be scheduled during the van drivers regular shift:
6. 6. The transportation coordinator will notify the facility van driver of outside scheduled appointments
7. 7. Will coordinate the availability of the van and arrange for supervision of residents as necessary in the event the family cannot be present for the appointment
8. 8. Will maintain a log of all trips by documenting all travel onto the mileage log/trip sheet that will be located and retained inside the bus/van
9. 9. Monthly mileage logs are to be filed and keep at the facility
10. 10. Maintains van appearance. Completes daily check lists
11. 11. Ensures all bus passengers are safely seated.
12. 12. Observes speed limits and obeys road signs.
13. 13. Reports and corrects all safety violations
14. 14. Completes bus/van log daily and turns in sheets at the end of each month
15. 15. Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Director or Administrator

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
