Job summary

Garver is seeking a motivated environmental sciences student to join our Transportation Team in Fayetteville, AR as a Transportation Intern – Environmental. The intern will gain real-world experience documenting environmental resources, training by experienced staff, and applying academic training in the consulting industry.

Responsibilities include participating in environmental compliance and planning projects, learning NEPA regulations, assisting with technical reports and Section 404 permit

Qualifications

• Pursuing an environmental science, ecology, biology, or related degree.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work in different environments, indoors and outdoors.
• Proven time management skills and work ethic.
• Proven professional communication skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
• A strong desire to assist with a wide array of infrastructure improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in environmental compliance and planning projects by working alongside our dynamic consulting team both in the field and at the office.
• Become familiar with local, state, and federal regulations relevant to NEPA.
• Assist in preparing technical reports and regulatory documentation, including Section 404 permit applications and supporting materials.
• Explore interdisciplinary interests of ecology, hydrology, cultural resources, hazardous materials, and environmental justice while you gain exposure to many types of infrastructure projects across transportation, aviation, and water business lines.
• Learn and utilize industry-related software such as ESRI ArcGIS products.
• The successful candidate will be a motivated critical thinker with the adaptability to learn and engage with a variety of environmental projects.
