Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transportation Engineering Intern/Co‑Op (Hydraulics) to support stormwater projects for highways, rail, transit and drainage systems in Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC. You’ll gain real-world design experience under supervision, contributing to civil engineering tasks in a collaborative, employee-owned culture.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program with a drive to learn, good communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Possess strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must.
• Prefer 1‑3 years completed toward degree with a minimum of 3.0 GPA.
• Demonstrate knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry.
• Preference will be given to local candidates.

HDR is looking for a stormwater Transportation Engineering Intern/Co‑Op (Hydraulics) to join our Transportation Business Group. Potential candidates will have the opportunity to work as a designer for the stormwater / hydraulics aspects of civil engineering projects for highways, railroads, transit systems, airports, bridges, and drainage systems. This position will be based in our Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC office.

In the role of Transportation Engineering Intern/Co‑Op, we'll count on you to:
