HDR is seeking a Transportation Engineering Intern/Co-Op (Traffic/Planning) to support our Raleigh, NC office. Join a team of professionals in a company of employee-owners focused on safe, sustainable mobility and community impact.

In this role you’ll gain real-world experience on urban and rural roadway projects, be mentored by project managers, apply standard engineering techniques, and contribute to plans, quantities, and construction estimates.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Prefer 2 years toward Civil Engineering or Transportation Planning degree with GPA 3.0+.
• Familiar with ArcGIS, Synchro, HCS, etc.
• Pursuing Engineer in Training (EIT) certification; local candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gain real-world experience on urban and rural roadway projects.
• Connect with recent graduates and mentors through programs.
• Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Perform alignment, geometrics, drainage, and plan development tasks under supervision.
• Perform other duties as needed.
