Job summary

The Transportation Engineer Trainee role at the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is based in Newington, CT. You will train to administer the AASHTOWare Project cost estimating module, support user accounts, and help implement Asset Tracker for lifecycle cost data.

Responsibilities

• Assist with administering and maintaining the AASHTOWare Project (AWP) software suite, including the cost estimating module.
• Provide AWP support: managing user accounts, implementing new modules, coordinating enhancements, communicating with stakeholders, developing training guides/videos, and designing reports in AWP and PowerBI.
• Assist with implementing AWP’s Asset Tracker module to fill data gaps for lifecycle cost analysis.
• Prepare engineer’s estimates for smaller projects; review design estimates and build estimates considering scope, bid data, pricing, schedule and complexity.

Education

Bachelor's degree

Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or Engineer-In-Training (EIT) licensure may substitute for General Experience
