Job summary
The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is hiring Transportation Engineer Trainee (Construction Engineering) to support the Office of Construction. Positions are available in multiple CT locations, with a pathway to growth into Transportation Engineer 1 and beyond.
Applicants should be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management and may be eligible after May 2027.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management expected by May 2027.
- Willingness to travel for training, conferences and field reviews.
- Valid driver's license required and must be maintained.
Responsibilities
- Read and analyze or prepare construction plans and estimates.
- Utilize computer aided design software (MicroStation) and MS Word/Excel.
- Contribute to safe and efficient transportation improvements for the traveling public.
