Mead & Hunt's Traffic & Advanced Mobility Business Unit is seeking a highly motivated in our Columbus, OH office to work on a diverse array of projects and make an impact on the communities we serve, as well as your career and your life.
Responsibilities include:
- Building a traffic & advanced mobility practice in Ohio including responding to Requests for Proposals, interacting with clients at project meetings, building strong relationships, and frequently presenting at technical conferences.
- Collaborating with staff in the Civil Engineering and Traffic & Advanced Mobility Business Units throughout the Midwest, Northeast, MidAtlantic and Southeast to win work and deliver projects.
- Prepare design, specifications and cost estimates for traffic signals, signing, and pavement marking, temporary traffic control, roadway lighting, and communications systems.
- Traffic engineering operations analysis and modeling using Synchro, VISSIM and HCS.
- Traffic safety studies, crash data analysis, and evaluating new technologies to improve traffic safety and operations on existing roadways
- Field observations of traffic conditions, traffic data collection, and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) assets and provide recommendations
- Prepare technical reports and memos to document findings and recommendations
Some travel and a valid driver's license will be required.
The successful candidate will have all the following:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil or electrical engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
- At least 6 years of relevant work experience
- PE license in the state of Ohio
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all the following:
- Strong capabilities in public speaking and excellent writing skills.
- Experience with Traffic engineering and/or Intelligent Transportation Systems
- Experience with Synchro, HCS, MUTCD
- Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certificate
- Roadway Safety Professional (RSP) certificate
- IMSA certificate and field experience with traffic signal cabinets, ATMS software and traffic signal controllers.
- Master's degree in engineering is a plus
