Transportation Engineering Project Manager – Multimodal & Infrastructure

Atlanta, GA | Hybrid

We are supporting a leading transportation design consultancy seeking a Transportation Engineering Project Manager to join their growing team focused on sustainable, multimodal infrastructure projects.

This role involves delivering innovative transportation solutions that improve safety, accessibility, and mobility within communities through complete streets, bikeways, pedestrian networks, and active transportation infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multimodal transportation projects from concept through detailed design and delivery
• Develop Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) for bid-ready construction packages
• Conduct site visits and assess existing conditions to inform engineering design decisions
• Lead project coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and internal teams
• Support proposal development, scope definition, budgets, and scheduling
• Contribute to transportation planning, design graphics, and grant application materials
• Assist with business development and pursuit of new project opportunities
• Ensure compliance with DOT and federally funded project requirements

Requirements

• 8+ years of transportation or civil engineering experience
• 2+ years in project management or project coordination roles Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field (ABET/EAC accredited)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, or OpenRoads
• Experience with multimodal design including complete streets, bikeways, and pedestrian infrastructure
• Strong understanding of transportation design elements including grading, drainage, traffic control, and construction staging
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred

• Master’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
• Experience with DOT or federally funded projects
• Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Deltek VantagePoint)
