GRAEF in Minneapolis invites a Transportation Engineer to join our established AEC team, contributing to diverse transportation and roadway designs.

You will lead design efforts, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary groups while adhering to MnDOT standards and project goals. The position emphasizes client interaction and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of practical design experience in transportation engineering and highway design.
• PE license in MN required.
• Experience with MnDOT standards and project development processes is preferred.
• Strong communication and client interaction skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on involvement in design and project advancement for transportation projects.
• Serve as a technical resource for a multi-disciplined team.
• Design opportunities include highway/roadway, sewer plans, project permitting, and reports.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Transportation Engineer in our Minneapolis office. This position offers the opportunity to work on the design of a variety of transportation and roadway projects. Transportation Engineer responsibilities include:

• Hands-on involvement in the design process and project advancement including setting priorities and developing objectives.
• The ability to serve as a technical resource for a multi-disciplined team.
• Design opportunities will generally include:
  • Highway and Roadway Plans, Specifications and Estimates
  • Sewer Plans, Specifications and Estimates
  • Project Permitting
  • Project Reports
  • Mentor Junior Engineers
• Professional society involvement.

We are considering Transportation Engineers who possess the following minimum qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of practical design experience in transportation engineering, highway design, and local street design.
• Knowledge of MnDOT design and standards.
• PE license in MN required.
• Project Management experience with the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
• Experience in business development and project development processes, including marketing activities, client development, project tracking and proposal development a plus.
• Good communication skills and a proven track record in successfully interacting with clients and internal team members is necessary.
• Experience mentoring staff.
• Knowledge of MicroStation and Open Roads Designer is an advantage.
