Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC is seeking a Transportation Engineer to lead roadway design projects in a growth-focused environmental consulting and engineering firm. You will coordinate with clients to meet deadlines, manage budgets, and supervise project personnel while delivering high-quality transportation design tasks.

The role involves geometric design, drainage analysis, cost estimation, and support for new client opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Internship or experience in roadway design, traffic analysis, or drainage design preferred.
• FDOT experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Implement project management plan for roadway design projects.
• Coordinate with clients to meet deadlines and expectations.
• Delegate tasks to project personnel and maintain budget and staff hours.
• Perform transportation design tasks including geometric design, drainage analysis, and cost estimation.
• Support marketing efforts and client development.
• Develop work zone traffic control plans and perform plan reviews with QA.

Your Responsibilities as a TransportationEngineer:

• Implement successful project management plan for roadway design projects which includes:
• Coordination with clients to meet and exceed deadlines and expectations
• Delegation of tasks to key project personnel
• Maintain project budget and staff hour estimate
• Perform transportation design tasks including
• Assist with marketing efforts of existing and potential clients
• Geometric Design including horizontal and vertical alignments
• Drainage analysis
• Quantity computations and cost estimation
• Work zone traffic control plan development
• Plan review and quality control

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor'sDegreeinCivilEngineering estimated May 2027.
• EITLicense desired.
• Prior internship in roadway design, traffic analysis or drainage design experience required.
• FDOT experience desired.
