Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our Florida team, delivering roadway, drainage, multimodal, and public infrastructure designs for FDOT and local government clients across the state.

You’ll design plans, develop calculations and documentation, and coordinate with utilities and stakeholders to ensure timely, high-quality project delivery. An EI/PE path and OpenRoads/MicroStation skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• EI certification or PE license depending on experience level.
• Experience with transportation, drainage or municipal infra projects.
• Familiarity with FDOT standards and design practices.
• OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare roadway, drainage, and transportation design plans.
• Develop calculations, quantities, estimates, and technical documents.
• Coordinate with utilities, permitting agencies, and project stakeholders.
• Participate in field reviews, constructability evaluations, and QC reviews.
• Assist with proposal development and client support.

Position Summary

Apex is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our growing transportation team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of roadway, drainage, multimodal, and public infrastructure projects for FDOT and local government clients throughout Florida.

Whether you're designing roadway improvements, coordinating utility relocations, developing drainage solutions, or supporting construction activities, you'll play a key role in delivering projects that directly impact the communities we serve.

What You'll Do

• Preparing roadway, drainage, and transportation design plans.
• Developing calculations, quantities, estimates, and technical documentation.
• Coordinating with utilities, permitting agencies, and project stakeholders.
• Participating in field reviews, constructability evaluations, and quality control reviews.
• Assisting with proposal development and client support efforts.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• EI certification or PE license, depending on experience level.
• Experience with transportation, roadway, drainage, or municipal infrastructure projects.
• Working knowledge of FDOT standards and design practices.
• Experience with OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation preferred.
• Sponsorship not available now or in the future.
