Transportation Engineers (Civil) (TE) perform engineering duties throughout District 11 in a Project Development Division and/or Construction. They may work in various divisions such as Traffic Operations, Maintenance Engineering, Design, Environmental, Engineering, Planning, and Program/Project Management. Depending on workload and the TE Rotation Program, the incumbent may be assigned to different positions in an office or field environment, supervised by a Branch Chief, Senior Transportation Engineer, Area Construction Engineer, or Senior Transportation Engineer. The role involves performing transportation engineering tasks of average difficulty, applying Caltrans standards, manuals, guidelines, policies, directives, and software applications.
