CDM Smith in the United States is seeking a senior transportation engineer to lead drainage, hydraulics, hydrology, and stormwater design for highway and infrastructure projects. You will guide technical solutions and ensure deliverables meet client objectives and quality standards.
The role requires a PE license, a civil/transportation/structural engineering degree, and about 12 years of related experience, with travel as needed to support projects nationwide.
With general direction, leads and develops transportation-related engineering designs of moderate to high complexity for highway, roadway, and other infrastructure projects to meet client requirements. This role offers the opportunity to support a wide variety of transportation design projects across the country while serving as a technical leader in drainage, hydraulics, hydrology, and stormwater management.
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline. Professional engineering (PE) license. 12 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Strong background in drainage and hydraulic analysis, and stormwater management design. Experience preparing Erosion and Sediment Control and National Pollution Discharge Elimination System permit submissions.
Experience working on PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike project teams. Working knowledge of submission requirements for PennDOT and PTC projects. Experience in task management leading design staff from preliminary design through final design.
Expert knowledge of Hydraulic, Hydrology, and Stormwater analysis and design practices. Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
