Position Overview:

Engineering Office (Roadway Design): This position involves working in the District’s in-house design section, reporting to the District Roadway Design Engineer. Responsibilities include engineering review and design tasks such as preparing detailed CADD plans for roadway projects, providing guidance to team members, and reviewing designs submitted by various entities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for various projects.
• Assess feasibility and soundness of engineering designs.
• Supervise or lead teams of engineers, technicians, and support staff.
• Review and develop plans for construction projects, incorporating geometric, hydraulic, and structural design techniques.
• Coordinate design work with survey teams and ensure accurate updates to management information systems.
• Sign plans and documents as a registered professional engineer.
• Attend project reviews, prepare design revisions, and recommend repairs or replacements for roadway projects.
• Instruct and train staff in CADD techniques and project coordination.
• Represent the department in meetings, testify in court, and operate state vehicles for site reviews.

Qualifications:

• Licensed as a registered professional engineer by the Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors.
• 12 months of experience as a Transportation Engineer 2 or equivalent, or experience in engineering research.
• Valid driver’s license if operating a state vehicle.

Additional information:

• Position located at District 7 HQ in Sidney, Ohio.
• Salary range: $37.53 - $53.58 per hour.
• Full-time, with standard work hours from 07:30 AM to 04:30 PM, may vary.
