Job summary

GHD is seeking an experienced Transportation Engineer for the Central Region to work on transportation analyses, signal timing improvements, and multimodal corridor studies with a dynamic team.

Responsibilities include field reviews, design traffic development, capacity studies, and preparing technical reports, while collaborating with clients and supporting business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years transportation engineering experience.
• Professional Engineering License desired.
• Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field reviews and assess existing conditions.
• Develop design traffic and existing/future traffic conditions.
• Perform capacity/LOS and corridor feasibility studies.
• Execute operational analyses and traffic simulations.
• Design and optimize signal timing.
• Apply access management principles to improve operations.
• Perform historical crash reviews and safety analyses.
• Develop and evaluate multimodal alternatives and recommendations.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports and project documentation.
• Assist/lead traffic signal designs and concept plans.
• Support business development and maintain client relations.

Who are we looking for?

GHD has a great opportunity for an experienced Transportation Engineer in our Central Region!Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Conducting and preparing a variety of transportation analyses and traffic impact studies, including traffic impact analysis, traffic signal warrant analysis, intersection design studies, safety studies, bicycle, and pedestrian planning studies.

Specific tasks include:

• Conducting field reviews and assessing existing conditions
• Developing design traffic and existing/future traffic conditions
• Performing capacity/LOS and corridor feasibility studies
• Executing operational analyses and traffic simulations
• Designing and optimizing signal timing
• Applying access management principles to improve corridor operations
• Performing historical crash reviews and advanced safety analyses
• Developing and evaluating multimodal alternatives
• Recommending improvements and innovations
• Preparing high-quality technical reports, memorandums, and project documentation
• Assisting/leading traffic signal designs and concept plan development
• Responsible for some business development and marketing activities, proposal writing, and maintaining client relations.

What you will bring to the Team

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related degree
• Minimum 5 years transportation engineering experience
• Professional Engineering License desired
• Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification desiredExperience completing Traffic Impact Studies is required Familiarity with HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic and SIDRA/RODEL traffic capacity analysis softwareFamiliarity with MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil3d and possess ability to become proficient in each, desiredStrong teammate, with the ability to work independently when required, cooperative in open sharing of information and knowledge with teamGood time management ability, ability to handle conflicting priorities and work in a fast-paced environmentAttention to detail and ability to complete diverse assignments - Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to meet challenging deadlines

Benefits:

• 401K - Employees are eligible to participate on the first day of the month following 3 months of service
• Paid time off - Our PTO benefit is designed to provide eligible employees with a period of rest and relaxation, sick, and personal time throughout the year. PTO starts at 16 days per year and increases with years of service
• Holiday Pay - Holiday pay is provided for eligible employees. GHD observes 9 holidays per year. Holiday pay will be based on the regular set schedule for the employee
• Wellness Benefit- Regular full-term employees are eligible to participate in the wellness reimbursement program. GHD will reimburse 50% of the cost of the following to maximum of $250.00 reimbursement annually for such items as: Health club membership fees, Home exercise equipment purchases, Bicycles, Race, run & marathon entrance fees, Smoking cessation programs, Weight loss programs (i.e.-Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig), Fitbits and Fitness Tracking devices

Salary Range: $81,000.00 - $135,000.00, varies based on experience and location.
